University of Arizona assistant coach, Shaun Cole, was named National Pitching Coach of the Year on Wednesday, Sept. 19. Collegiate Baseball Newspaper has given the award annually since 2002.

Cole helped the Wildcats’ pitching staff to a 3.70 ERA, 48 wins, and a National Championship in 2012. At the College World Series, Arizona’s pitchers allowed only six earned runs and had an ERA of 1.12.
